Sidharth Malhotra is an Indian actor who works in Hindi films. He is the recipient of several accolades alongside nominations for two Filmfare Awards and also appeared in Forbes India's Celebrity 100 list from 2016 to 2018. He began his career as a fashion model but left it to pursue acting as an assistant director to Karan Johar in My Name Is Khan. He had his first acting debut in Johar's teen film Student of the Year which was a commercial success earning him a nomination at Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. Malhotra went on to star in several commercially successful films as the romantic comedy Hasee Toh Phasee, the thriller Ek Villain, and the drama Kapoor & Sons. This success was followed by a career downturn and setbacks, with critical and commercial failures such as A Gentleman, Ittefaq, Aiyaary and Jabariya Jodi, he later gained critical acclaim for starring as Vikram Batra in the war film Shershaah, earning a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor.
