Russell Westbrook III is an American professional basketball player who last played for the Denver Nuggets of the National Basketball Association. Known for his explosiveness and intensity, he is considered one of the greatest point guards in NBA history. A nine-time All-Star and the 2017 NBA MVP, Westbrook holds the NBA record for most career triple-doubles and was named to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team in 2021. He also won a gold medal with the U.S. national team at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Westbrook played college basketball for the UCLA Bruins and earned third-team all-conference honors in the Pac-10. He was selected with the fourth overall pick in the 2008 NBA draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, who then relocated to Oklahoma City that same week.
