The Japanese video game development and publishing subsidiary of Konami was established on March 31, 2006, and is known as Konami Digital Entertainment Co., Ltd.. Hudson Soft was absorbed. Konami Digital Entertainment firms had been founded in various forms, either as holding companies or publishers, prior to Konami Corporation's formal conversion to a holding company in 2006.
