Michael Anton is an American conservative essayist, speechwriter and former private-equity executive who is currently the director of policy planning in the second Trump administration, a role he has held since January 2025. Previously, he was deputy assistant to the President for strategic communications on the National Security Council in the first Trump administration. He wrote "The Flight 93 Election," an influential essay in support of Donald Trump during the 2016 presidential campaign, under a pseudonym. A former speechwriter for Rupert Murdoch, Rudy Giuliani, and Condoleezza Rice, Anton worked as director of communications at the investment bank Citigroup and as managing director of investing firm BlackRock. He is also the author of a men's fashion guide book, The Suit, published in 2006. Read more
