Diana Lorena Taurasi is an American former professional basketball player who played in the Women's National Basketball Association for 20 seasons, spending her entire career with the Phoenix Mercury. Taurasi is widely recognized as one of the greatest women's basketball players ever. She rose to fame while playing college basketball at the University of Connecticut where she led the team to three consecutive NCAA championships. Taurasi was drafted by Phoenix first overall in the 2004 WNBA draft and was the 2004 WNBA Rookie of the Year. She has won three WNBA championships, one WNBA Most Valuable Player Award, two WNBA Finals MVP Awards and five scoring titles. She has also been selected to 10 WNBA All-Star teams and 14 All-WNBA teams. In 2011, she was voted by fans as one of the WNBA's Top 15 Players of All Time and was named by the league to its 20th and 25th anniversary teams, the WNBA Top 20@20 in 2016 and The W25 in 2021.
